Treasure Tides is the first in a series of paranormal romance novels (The Coins series) by Deniece Greene.
Becki Stephens is living the dream in a beach house located on an island along the coast of South Carolina. She spends her leisure time soaking up the sun on her boat, diving, and occasionally hunting for sharks' teeth. One particular boating expedition leads to the discovery of more than sharks' teeth when she accidently discovers a crate on the ocean floor. Unable to open the crate, she takes it home to enlist the help of her Uncle, who has the tools she thinks are needed to pry the crate open.
Soon after arriving at Becki's home the next morning, Uncle Kurt is deeply troubled by what he finds. The crate Becki found, and placed on her deck, has strange symbols etched into the lid. Because of his military background and top-secret missions in the Middle East, these markings are not strange to Kurt. He has seen these markings before and immediately recognizes the origin of the handiwork. He makes arrangements to remove the crate as soon as possible from Becki's home; vowing to shield her from what-ever lurks inside.
